It has been a while since I've done this so it took a while to get the updates in. If you guys have anything new, just let me know.

Ok guys, we've all been waiting around trying to figure out where we are in line. Well, here you go, this is the list, well, sort of...

I went through a bunch of posts and looked at people's signatures as well. This certainly isn't all encompassing but it should give you an idea of where you stand in line with regards to the rest of us poor slobs. Please only post the part that needs to be changed and I will edit the main list. Thx, UMI

It's interesting to see that even though Singleshot and I ordered on the same day, there are 14 orders (not necessarily all G73's) between us. Yikes!

The good news is that it seems like January is just about in the bag and early February orders have been touched. I'm feeling really good about this shipment!

I am no longer anxious to get this in, like I was at one time.....kinda getting bored with xotic....they have nothing in stock that anybody wants, msi,sager or asus. I would cancel my order, and keep using POS I'm on now, but I've waited this long, might as well wait a little longer.

Last night for a short period, there were A1's available, but not any longer. I didn't try to purchase because I've already got my order in at Xotic and I plan to keep it there. I agree 100%. When I first put up the list, I thought it would calm the masses and be something nice to get everybody through. Then, certain people who will remain nameless but know who they are, started calling Xotic and bitching that someone ahead of them moved to P2 before they did.

My bad guys, if I would have known what the fall-out from this was going to be, I wouldn't have started the list. It is a shame some assholes had to pull that BS.

You will still get it faster then custom. Customizations add 3-9 business days to production time after payment is processed.

The only thing different now (due to past concerns) is some orders maybe delayed if the person ahead of you is not responding to our emails or there are payment problems. We unfortunately now have to look more closely at orders numbers, even if they are in the same batch, and ship accordingly.

Looks like replacing the thermal compound is not something you want to do. But if you want to change the HD or wireless card yourself, it is easy as pie.

It may be the purest pain you have ever known. The preordering of the ASUS G73JH has been rated one of the most stressful of all life change situations. What is happening to you is of all things natural. That knowledge will not lessen your pain, or minimize your grief, but it may give you courage, when possible , to get through it all. 1. SHOCK- Some never go through a prolonged stage of shock and are able to express their emotions immediately. Others will say "I'm number what in line? There are how many ahead of me? Holy sh!t..." Sometimes there is denial. Gradually, one becomes aware of what they have just gotten themselves into, and are able to move on through the process.

2. EMOTIONAL RELEASE- One begins to feel and to hurt. "WHY!!! WHHHHHYYYYYY!!" It's okay to cry a litle during this period. If one does not express this emotion, it will be expressed in some other way – on the physical or emotional level. Some people need to be induced to cry. 3. PREOCCUPATION WITH THE UNRELEASED- The Pre-Orderer may try to think of other things but finds him(her)self unable to shift his(her) mind from thoughts about the G73JH. (Apparent throughout this forum)

4. SYMPTOMS OF SOME PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL DISTRESSES- Loss of sleep, poor work performance, stress induced sickness.
Closely associated with the physical distresses may be certain emotional alterations.
The most common are:
1) slight sense of unreality
2) feeling of emotional distance from people – that no one really cares or understands.
3) sometimes people appear shadowy or very small
4) sometimes there are feelings of panic, thoughts of self-destruction, or the desire to run away or “cancel the order”.

7.DEPRESSION- Many feel total despair, unbearable loneliness and hopelessness. "Oh, whoa is me!! Shall I never see thee oh beautiful one?"

8.WITHDRAWAL- At this time, subjects tend to spend less time with real people and more time lurking forums related to the Unreleased, checking emails for notifications, or searching for other places that may be able to satify their insatiable desire for that which they cannot attain. Life seems like a bad dream. This is normal.

9.THE PRE-ORDERERS BEGIN TO RE-ENTER RELATIONSHIPS- Time and ventilation of feelings will finally produce a better situation. All of a sudden light shines through the gloom and the darkness of despair, and life comes into clearer focus. The person readjusts to his environment in which the G73JH is missing and forms new relationships.

10.RESOLUTION AND READJUSTMENT TO REALITY- This will come, but only if the Pre-Orderer seeks it. Breathe. Go out and ride a bike. Read a book. See a movie. Nothing you can do will make your G73JH suddenly appear in your hands. Once this reality has been accepted, the Pre-Orderer will be able to regain fuctionality and await his G73JH with a sense of dignity.

This is the way we did it in the past and caused many of the posters here to make ludicrous comments about us via here on the forums, chat, email and telephone. So due to this unfortunately some of you will be delayed if the person ahead of you is not responding to emails from us or has payment problems. :( We will continue to review the process and make any adjustments if we are able to.

BTW, most of you that were contacted are going to get a machine. :)

However, it is a very hard pill to swallow when I look at UMI's order#16219 then look at my order#17080, then after doing the math... with 861 order numbers in between it feels a little discouraging to think that every email and payment arrangement in between has the possibility of extending the wait even further due to "delayed response time". I think most customers would agree that a reasonable amount of time to respond and make payment arrangements would be considered justified where the overwhelmingly large demand for a unit such as this is involved. I've seen several posts to the thread which indicated that they secured a unit elsewhere or just gave up on the whole process. What kind of impact could the non-response of those disgruntled customers have on the whole process? You say you will continue to review the process. Simply saying that our wait could be even longer due to the unfortunate circumstances of non-response or slow payment doesn't really do much for customer confidence. Seems to be a slap in the face to those who have patiently waited, or those who submitted their payments in a timely fashion. If a review of the process and adjusments is truly in order, speaking for myself, as a late February order, with 861 total order numbers between UMI and myself, I ask... PLEASE... PLEASE... place a reasonable time constraint on the process of email response and payment delivery. What kind of wait can the customers who placed their orders in mid March truly expect to endure. I fully intend to keep my commitment with Xotic PC. Likewise, I will respond to my confirmation email within one business day of its receipt. I fear that waiting for every email to be responded to, then processing the orders has the potential to turn a long wait into an eternity. Please review the process and make those adjustments as you see fit. Otherwise, I may be drawing Social Security, or even worse... you may have to forward my unit to the nursing home my kids lock me away in.

I understand your concern and agree with you. However many posts from multiple users just in this thread clearly show we have to pay a closer attention to order # even if they are in the same group. We have had to deal with a very large amount of calls, emails, chats and forum posts about this same issue. To avoid this the only thing we can do is to pay closer attention to order # shipments. We will continue to evaluate the process but the concerns and feedback we have received similar to "Why did Bob's order ship when my order is older" type of feedback forced us to do this. If people wouldn't have gotten as upset as they did when we were doing what we thought was the right way to do it, we wouldn't be where we are today. :( Don't get me wrong I see your point but the derogatory and ludicrous comments made towards us due to newer orders shipping sooner forced us into this.

We do put a certain time constraint but the there unfortunately will be some delays for some people that are behind customers with payment issues or take longer to respond to our emails. Again we appreciate everyone's patience and those that reply right away to our emails.

I have made a total of two phone calls to xoticpc since I put in my order!
One to confirm payment received and one to Justin and ask status on shipment! The rest of my time has been on and off reading these silly post! I would like my Laptop sooner than later, waiting this out has been an experience I will never do again!

I based it on many more factors than just the wait on this model, which is proving to be much longer than originally thought, and in no way am I upset you guys decided to wait. I have as much machine as I needed for the same price as the Asus.

The sager is looking that much sweeter to me based on the changes that have been made to the order process now due to people complaining and the potential wait increase that just happened because of it. Nothing more nothing less.

The Asus is a decent machine for most intents and purposes. The price is nice. The wait is not. The wait is not Xotics' fault. The freedom to express that I do not have to deal with this mess and the appreciation for my sager is one that I will not give up, because I have freedom of speach in my country. You don't like it? skip reading the one line post or ignore it.

It seems to me that you and all the other waiters are so butthurt that you cannot get it through your head that I don't dislike the Asus machine, I dislike Asus for causing a mess like this. That makes my sager look like a sweet deal to me after seeing this. IMPO you guys that are waiting this long could probably have gone and sold some extra junk lying around to make up the difference in price for the Sager lol and there is a masochistic tendency here of the G73 buyers that is enthralling.

I just got off the phone with Joe, mainly to confirm my order but to also ensure the process of waiting for replys from others is going ok, from what he said they have a lot of replys already and they will start calling and/or sending a final email notice soonish (maybe a week or so) to those that have not replied so that they can move forward with the orders of those that got the email.

I also suggested that they make a locked thread to give us small updates a few times a week so we know everything is moving and to hopefully put to rest some of our emotions about the waiting so hopefully they arent having to field so many phone calls/emails and letting them get more done on their end to get out orders. Now some of you might not think this would help in production, but in fact it does. Joe told me that up until the G73 crisis he was back in production most of the time helping to do customizations as I am sure other reps do as well, so the more we can free them up the faster our orders can hit the UPS trucks heading to our homes.

Speaking of how awesome the G73 with the radeon 5870 will be has everyone seen the benchmarks that Justin did on the Sager laptop comparing the 5870 to the 285m.. It is a pretty nice bump in performance.

The only spot it looses ground is the CPU comparison which many speculate has to do with CUDA and Physx.

I don't put much merrit in those numbers though if it really is CUDA and Physx. I have done the research with some other GPGPU apps and in generally the ATI GPU's kick the NVIDIA cards butt. It won't be a good comparison till we can compare OpenCL apps on both.

I understand your concern and agree with you. However many posts from multiple users just in this thread clearly show we have to pay a closer attention to order # even if they are in the same group. We have had to deal with a very large amount of calls, emails, chats and forum posts about this same issue. To avoid this the only thing we can do is to pay closer attention to order # shipments. We will continue to evaluate the process but the concerns and feedback we have received similar to "Why did Bob's order ship when my order is older" type of feedback forced us to do this. If people wouldn't have gotten as upset as they did when we were doing what we thought was the right way to do it, we wouldn't be where we are today. :( Don't get me wrong I see your point but the derogatory and ludicrous comments made towards us due to newer orders shipping sooner forced us into this.

We do put a certain time constraint but the there unfortunately will be some delays for some people that are behind customers with payment issues or take longer to respond to our emails. Again we appreciate everyone's patience and those that reply right away to our emails.

Thanks for the clarification in regards to placing a certain amount of time constraints where non-responsive emails are concerned. Please know that I truly appreciate the professional manner in which you and your staff handle the arduous task of dealing with the conundrum dropped in your laps due to a less than lackluster Asus rollout. Obviously, with a little more foresight from Asus, the forum threads would read a lot more like a Woodstock reunion thread. That is, had Asus been able to actually match supply with demand. I don't post to the threads very often and perhaps my frustration showed a bit more than usual today. Those of you who have visited my profile page to view the pics, know that I have actually built a G73 Gaming Theater Room over my garage. Consequently, with it now being finished, I am really looking forward to the PC which will reside at the heart of the project. That being said, I guess extreme anticipation starved buy a lack of product equals a sometimes overly anxious and somewhat moody Duck.

Justin, to you and your staff... thank you... to the rest of the forum community... especially UMI, (without whom we would have no waiting list) I wish the best of luck with your patience regarding your order... and when you get it in your anxious little hands... "never lets go of the precious".

ATI STREAM and CUDA are the first real attempts at GPGPU technology by either companies. Open CL is the first industry standard to allow one set of code to work on each. I believe OpenCL in hardware is required for a video card to be DX11 compliant.

OpenCL is going to help make huge strides in GPU acceleration as it will make it easier to make programs and maintain them.

I hear you. I just wish they never had this Stream vs Cuda APIs. If all would go to OpenCL, that would be great! One API to rule us all and let the better implementer take all. Unfortunately for us, they have a large following of Cuda users, so we'll probably be seeing multiple APIs for a while... :(

This is the day of Joseph:

8-wake up(after hitting the snooze twice, this is my ritual)
9-arrive at xoticpc, grab my Mt. Dew, log into our chat client, turn my phone off of DND, open emails and begin
9-5:30-I answer phone calls, chats, and email, supervise the production facility and assist on any of the difficult or problematic computers.

5:30 -10-I continue to work at Xoticpc doing whatever is needed from completing emails to returning phone calls that didn't get finished during the day.

10pm-2:30am- toss one of my favorite shows up on the television from netflix via the PS3(which has to be missing me as I haven't played it in 3 weeks) Lately my poison has been the show "Weeds". And answer emails this entire time.

8am-I wake up and do it all over again.

Please trust that we are working our tails off pretty much every hour that we are awake to get all of your calls/voicemails answered and emails replied. Right now my focus has been to make my way through all of the G73jh-a1/a2 orders and reply to everyone who has sent an email to me. My focus is to get to all of you today some 100+ emails :)

If you have a question do not hesitate to send an email or call on the phone. But do trust that we will update you as soon as we have gotten through all of the orders and have something concrete to tell you. Everyone can calm down and know that we are not going to make you wait for a month while we wait for 1 person to contact us. We want to ship you your computer just as bad as you want to receive it. XoticPC has to take steps to remain fair to everyone who has placed an order. From the comments on this forum it seemed that our old way of filling orders a little bit out of place wasn't the best method.

Thanks for reading. I don't know if you care to know what a day in the life of an XoticPC employee is like, but it was a small diversion from everything else during my Lunch.(yes i know its a late lunch...that is just the kind of day it has been :) )

That is the reason we asked the A1 orders if they wanted to switich to the A2 since those are the models we both have in/expect to have in stock for the people that we contacted. Basically we are considering the A1 and the A2 models the same and when your name comes up on the list we will offer you the laptop that we can ship to you first. It is really the only way to be fair to those who have been waiting so long. Some have wanted to wait and most people will switch over so they can get it sooner.

The April 5th shipment was already scheduled so its both the shipment on the 23rd plus the shipment on the 5th coming in on the 5th. What I am saying is that around that time there will be a lot of people contacted. So do not fret as even though it is another 2 week wait we expect to fill many orders from that shipment.

non-tech savvy folk have no idea know who ASUS is. it's ALMOST kind of like an instant check on everybody's tech knowledge that they even made it to this forum and ordered one of these beasts. :)

I am no geek by any stretch of the imagination, I just read alot, and not just here. I got interested in something and my ADD kicks in and won't let go til I have it in my hands ripped apart and put back together again, then I move on to something else. To give you an example, I bought a rifle costing me well over $3000.00 and the first thing I did was tear it completely down, cleaned it up and put back together again, twice b4 I ever shot it!!! Now, it's the g73.....ADD is terrible!!! But, my point, not everybody is as familiar with puters as some of you are, so thanks for teaching an old dog new tricks...now off to my wait...

Hey guys, I've been a fellow in misery for almost a month now. Just decided to get a little more vocal. I have a question for Justin. Why should the people who don't make payments on time or respond to e-mails affect people lower on the order ladder? Why can't you just skip those people, hold their orders, and give the people who are able to show they deserve what they pay for their order? Would it put more pressure on you as a business? Because from what I understand, XoticPC is made up of a few people. If that's what it is, then cool. Just want to know.

P.S. If I pre-ordered and haven't been charged yet, you guys will let me know when you're charging me, right? I just don't want to be one of those non-responders.

:smile2:I think in some ways your post answered your own question. You have not been charged yet. What if at the moment they do put the charge through a problem? You go to the back of the line? You cool with that, I thought not. So they take all reasonable steps to maintain and secure your order. It could be a mistake on your part or Xotic's part or neither. But you have waited why should a one didgit mistake put you back? It should not.

And yes UMI already recognizes his good intention thread is a road to hell. But it is what it is and Xotic decided rightly so to do the best and be the fairest to all. And that does mean those who ordered first.

I do not know exactly what they are doing but I do know they are trying to be as fair as possible. If anyone finds it ironic that the entire openness of UMI's thread is causing delays for others? Then yes it is ironic. But the customer demand created it. So we all must live with.

On the topic of Xotic and emailing and waiting. How long would you wait? 10 minutes. They might have a job you must give a reasonable time for them to respond before you bump them. Yea I would email back in ten minutes but I am not everyone.

They are trying to run a good fair honest business. And sad to say some of the irony was created by the G73 posters as a group. I can only think things like "made the bed" now sleep in it.

The most important thing to remember is you bought from a great retailer trust them to do their best, they will.

Sharing order numbers did not work out so well did it?;)

It is much easier to make these changes now than when you are in production. I hope you can accept our apology if you already had an A2 and you were notified that you could switch to an A2. The good news is that means you are one of the ones in line to get a laptop with the current shipment.

No sir, I am not the sniper in the family, but I was trained by one of the very best in the country. He has the trophies to prove it. My uncle was an Army sniper instructor for over 25 years. He talked me into this gun, for hunting deer at very long range (I guess). He has been working with me for about 8 years teaching me all he knows. But, the old f@cker can still out shoot me on any given day!!!! He has trained the F.B.I.,C.I.A and of course new Army wanna be's. He has gotten me accurate out to 600 yards, with A kill last year of 450 yards (I use yards, he use meters) my first time out with the gun. He has done a sh@t load of work on it, 3.5 lb trigger and tuned the barrel and even the camouflage job on it. I can honestly say this is the best rifle I own!!! Enough of that, anybody heard anything, I'm still phase one? Was hoping to get it shipped today so it will be waiting on me when I get home on Friday. Not looking good, and will be another 2 weeks if shipped later....
