Any word on when these will be available?
Justin@XoticPC
07-01-2007, 11:40 AM
They will be in, in about 2 weeks :D
Cataclysm
07-01-2007, 12:02 PM
Ah, excellent! Will they cost more than the matte versions? If so, by how much? Also, how long will the Vista 64-bit installed 32 bit included deal last?
Justin@XoticPC
07-02-2007, 01:40 PM
The OS Deal will last for a while yet. :D The Glossy WSXGA is not going to arrive for 4 weeks or more. The Matte is the only option for the WSXGA at this time.
Sorry I didn't notice you mentioned Glossy WSXGA is your last post :(

Wha... 4 weeks? That's like... a month!
Hmm... Well, as long as the OS deal hold out longer than 4 weeks I suppose I an wait. How long does it take to build and ship a system, usually?
Justin@XoticPC
07-02-2007, 05:49 PM
It could be 4 weeks or longer :( It usually takes us 24-96 hours to build/test and ship :D

Four weeks... or longer...
Call those lazies as Sager and tell them to hurry the heck up!
Can you tell us when they get in?
Justin@XoticPC
07-03-2007, 11:05 AM
There is no ETA on the Glossy. Compal is the one that switched the screens at the last minute because the Glossy's were in shortage. This is not Sagers fault at all.
It will be at least August or Later for the Glossy WSXGA's :(

Noob question, is the glossy the one like a mirror, and the matte the standard lcd view ? :D
Justin@XoticPC
07-05-2007, 08:08 AM
The glossy produces a glare and the colors are usually more vivid. It is not as bad as a mirror.
Cataclysm
07-05-2007, 10:02 PM
Vivid colors are good for games... I'll need to see a review of the matte screen before I decide to buy it now or wait...

OK, well I decided to wait for glossy as I already have a laptop (Its a crappy one though). However, I read about some problems people are having. Some people can't get the buttons on top to work, or the buttons on the left side. Is this just a side-effect of running XP (I think they were) or is it a driver issue?
Justin@XoticPC
07-10-2007, 11:07 PM
I think it is software issues. :(
Cataclysm
07-12-2007, 10:30 PM
Well then, it can be fixed... I'd like to ask what model your notebook coolers and RAM sticks are?
Justin@XoticPC
07-12-2007, 10:44 PM
The RAM is major brand RAM that has been certified in the machine. We use a OEM Cooler that has 2 fans.
Let me know if you have any other questions! :D
Cataclysm
07-13-2007, 11:22 PM
OK, one more (For now!)
Do the fans on the bottom of the Sager blow air out or suck it in? This will be a major factor in purchasing a cooler...
Justin@XoticPC
07-14-2007, 09:55 AM
Fans on the bottom suck in on the bottom and exhaust out the side/rear.
If you have any other questions just ask!

Which vent supplies air to the CPU? I read the Zalman blows air mostly into the front and middle...
Thanks man, you're a great help!
Justin@XoticPC
07-15-2007, 12:14 AM
The vents on the top right corner and in the center below the battery provide air to the CPU.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

What are the official clock speeds for the 8600GT on the Sager? Do you think they would be safe to overclock to match the G1S if they are lower?
Justin@XoticPC
07-16-2007, 05:55 PM
The 2090 can be OC'd if you would like to do so. I am sorry I dont have the clock speed at this time for the video card's stock settings. (You will have room to Overclock it ) :D
Cataclysm
07-19-2007, 11:19 PM
Haha, if it catches fire after I OC it, Im holding you personally responsible!
Of the aforementioned vents, which cools the GPU and HDD? Is there any more news on when the glossy WSXGA+ screens will arrive and be ready for shipping?
Justin@XoticPC
07-21-2007, 12:30 AM
You overclock at your own risk! :D
We are receiving just under 20 of the IFL90 WSXGA that will be shipping next week. We will be shipping in the order that orders were placed:) The compartment in the top left is the HDD Compartment. The GPU gets most of the air from the 2nd down on the right side.
Cataclysm
07-21-2007, 08:50 AM
Ah, I hope theres one left over... I eant to place an order, but I dont see the glossy option in the screen settings...
EDIT: Oops, you meant IFL90, Im waiting on the Sager
Justin@XoticPC
07-21-2007, 09:32 AM
We are speaking of them combined when stating how many we are receiving. We will work with the first orders ASAP. :D

Um, well, I dont see the option to select a Glossy screen on the Sager. Does your page have to be updated or something?
Justin@XoticPC
07-22-2007, 11:57 PM
We dont have a ETA on the Glossy WSXGA+ so we will not update the site until we have a ETA for it :D

Oh, my bad. I thought you said they were in.

Just wondering if its GDDR2 or 3 on the video card.

on the 2090? gddr2 according to nearly every response on notebookreview. only ones that are reported to have it are the asus g1s and macbook pro
Justin@XoticPC
07-26-2007, 12:04 AM
It is DDR2 as Compal has confirmed to us.
That is correct about the G1S and DDR3.
Cataclysm
07-26-2007, 04:30 PM
Whats the difference between DDR2 and 3? I heard one takes less power and runs cooler, but thats all. Is this true?
Justin@XoticPC
07-28-2007, 08:28 AM
There is a very minimal difference between the two. In real world use you wouldnt even notice the difference between DDR2 and DDR3. :D

Any non-confirmed ETA as to when WSXGA+ with glossy screens will be available, or if they are not coming at all.
Justin@XoticPC

Sorry no more information at this time on the next shipment :(

Justin,
looks like you missed my question, I was asking about Glossy screens for WSXGA+, any non-confirmed ETA on those or if they are ever coming
Justin@XoticPC
08-04-2007, 11:31 AM
They are coming but there is no ETA at this time on the WSXGA. We have been told about 2 weeks, but that is NOT confirmed.

10-05-2007, 04:25 PM
I am sorry no more updates on 2090 WSXGA + :(
Cataclysm
11-07-2007, 02:36 PM
Did Sager or Clevo cancel the option or something? I still don't see any updates...
Justin@XoticPC
11-07-2007, 05:04 PM
The WSXGA+ is shipping out regularly at this time for the Sager NP2090 :)
Cataclysm
11-07-2007, 07:06 PM
Hmm... I dont see a WSXGA+ Glossy option anywhere.

Here (http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np2090-custom-laptop-built-compal-ifl90-p-1876.html?wconfigure=yes)is a link to the configurator of the Sager 2090 (IFL90)

I think cataclysm meant WSXGA+ (1680x1050) Glossy. The configurator only has Matte on that resolution. Will the higher resolution glossy ever be out?
Justin_W@XoticPC
11-21-2007, 03:34 PM
At this time only the matte screen is available, there is no word of a glossy being offered in a higher resolution.
