Folks, no luck w/ tech support or any of the drivers...if any of you have the cam working on the 9262, if you get a chance, it'd be great if you could post a step-by-step on how you got it working!

thanks,
pat!

Pat,

Is that the same cam as on the 5793? What kind of problems are you having? Not opening at all, or just a black, blue or white screen?

Akakios, it's for the 9262...no matter how many times i uninstall/reinstall the BisonCam software, everytime time I hit FN-F10, it keeps asking me for the drivers again  I'm thoroughly befuddled!!!

thanks,
pat!

Does it give you the option to direct the search for those specific drivers?

Have you updated all your drivers? I couldn't use the Fn+10 key until updating the aero drivers.

Mine did the same thing on my 5793. Where are you getting your drivers from? I tried the ones straight from Sager's site and it didn't fix the problem. I found the drivers on the Driver CD I got with my laptop and reinstalled those and all is well now.

folks, i've done both the Sager site ones and the ones from the DVD...but I'm using only the BisonCam set up....

gah...this is a wee bit frustrating but certainly not the end of the world....

I'm just tired of 'uninstalling and reinstalling all this stuff....

Should I avoid the Bison cam one and go w/ the Aero only??

Does the Camera show up in your Device Manager.... probably under Imaging Devices... all drivers working properly?

After doing a search on this Pat, I remembered drivers have to be installed in order, some rely on the others. I wonder if maybe your drivers for the Bison were installed out of order which would make it unrecognizable. Does anyone have an opinion on that? I then searched that and found this comment....

""Installing Bison Cam Drivers
It Does Not matter If You Have the drivers Or Not!!! If You Don't Install them ( All Drivers) In The Order That They Tells You On The Driver Disk That goes To the Laptop ( Sager... All Models, Clevo... All models...Hypersonic...(All Models) Pro Star... All Models You Wiill never get it to Work. There is A File That installs First Before The Cam Drivers Install. You Can Look All day For This File ( Good Luck) And Not Find it, It is A VGA Driver, Called (ALI M56030C) When this installs Then The Cam Drivers Install. Then Reboot When You do Get the camer To Work, It Works Great in Any messenger Service. Good Luck. You May have to get A Driver Instalation Disk Fom The MFG,

p/s: I Have gForce nvidia Video Cards In Both My Laptops So i'm sure That The People That Have ATI Video Cards Will Have a different VGA Driver""

If that's true, you might have to reinstall your drivers, in order.

I don't know if this is the same driver that you have or not, but try this link. I linked the last page, the page with the camera driver, but it is a 5 page article that has all of your drivers listed for the Clevo D900C series

http://driverscollection.com/?H=D900C&By=Clevo&dpage=5

And here's the link for Clevo's driver list if you don't have it already for your model. Doesn't look like that driver has been updated since last June! Old camera or what?

http://www.clevo.com.tw/en/e-services/Download.asp

Hope something there helps ya Pat. It sucks to spend the kind of money we (you!!) spend on our machines to have even just one thing not work! Even if it's not a major item!

All of you are AWESOME! I will be trying first to uninstall Bison and use other drivers to see if that works...if not, I'm going to try the 'install drivers in order' route!

I thank you all SO MUCH! Hopefully this will work, I'm going to try before the weekend starts to get this to work and I will post back here w/ my results!

later and thanks again,
pat!!!!

Well, I got it working!!! DO NOT ask me how  It was an agonizing trial and error that involved CD based Bison Cams, a web download of the driver from sager and god only knows what else...i honestly wish i could be more thorough on how i got it working...but it is! Can't get the video capture to work now, but I think that's more me not knowing how!

anyhow, thanks to all who contributed their insights!

later,
pat!
