g73jh-a2 died

I received my g73jh-a2 on May 18th, and it just died on me. I was running off battery, closed the lid.

When I opened it up, totally dead, so I plugged in the ac adapter, but nothing happened - the little battery light in the front didn't go on. Light is on on the adapter, other things working in the power strip. Called asus tech support and they just had me do a hard reset a couple times and then said I had to bring it in.

What a lemon!! Balls. Starting to regret the purchase - has anyone experienced anything similar (completely dead)?

I understand your pain man, sorry to hear that you are having this issue. I can't even imagine what went wrong with the machine that it died from being plugged in while closed.

Two questions:
1. Where did you buy it? (I'm assuming Xotic since you're posting here but asking anyway)
2. Did you have any customizations done that would have resulted it in being tested prior to shipping?

No, it was a standard configuration.

If it is brand new within 30 days you can get a DOA Replacement from ASUS. After 30 they will just replace whatever died in there.
