Hello,
I'd like to downgrade my NP5792 to XP. I have 4gb of RAM so I'd need to install XP-64bit right? Is that recommended? And then are the windows XP drivers provided on sagernotebooks.com both for 32bit & 64bit?
Thanks!

You arn't required to use XP 64. If you want all 4 gig to be recognized then you need XP 64. Otherwise it will recognize around 3 gig of the memory. (also make sure to disable intel turbo memory if you have it regardless of which XP you choose) XoticPC does not support a system with XP 64, so if you install it they will not help with driver updates or troubleshooting. Drivers for XP 64 are rare but not impossible to find. I would make sure you can find all the proper drivers before making the switch. Or just stick with good ol' XP 32 bit.

Alright thanks!
I just wanted to speed up my system a bit! Vista is good but it still eats up a lot of memory! If I want to run 32 bit software it takes double the memory under the 64 bit architecture! But I guess I'll stick to Vista...

You can install XP. It will only see about 3.2-3.4 gigs of the ram however. It works fine that way, and will help your PC run a little faster.
A well tuned Vista, with UAC, Aero and bunch of the other crap turned off is actually pretty decent memory wise. (God I cant believe I said that) That being said I still like XP better. The only thing that Vista is really good for is DX10.1.

double check before you purchase the xp x64, because it has had known compatability issues for certain system configurations. i wanted it but was told it wouldnt play nice with all my hardware and stuff. hate to see ya purchase something if in the end it wouldnt play nice on yours too. lol im sure it will but plz double check ok. laterz....
