We have recently received a updated forecast from ASUS. The G53JW is expected to arrive Late September to Early October. The G73JW is expected to be out just a little before the G53JW. Both Models are expected to have 3D Versions available. The G53JW-3DE is expected in October and the G73JW-3D is expected in November.

There may also be some special editions of the G73JW released that will come with special configurations and a dogtag that lists the limited serial number of the notebook. Ie: No.2345 of the total 3500pcs. These versions will be the G73JW-ROG.

Sounds like another pre-order thread in the making.

Have to hit 1000 in the other one before the mass exodus to the new thread.

Thanks for the info Justin. I'm interested to see these new models. I'm sure I will want them but I have to say I love my G73JH.

I look forward to this. But unless something is so outstanding not sure I have the money upgrade yet.

Justin if you get any of these models early and post your thoughts I think we all would appreciate. I would respect your thoughts more than some others.

15" F-22 will be cool. But what GPU? 460 in both?

If the 480 in the G73 congrats to those who came late or waited. I do not see many of us that waited trading. It might not be true or correct but we like our 5870's and think some advantages come hell or high water.

I also look forward to the time when the posters say 3D is cool not a gimmick. Not sure there yet but close.

I think going to be like all those who bought the NP8760 then the NP8850 came out. Cannot stay on top for ever.

The Kids want to know USB 3.0?

Agree with what PP said. I'm happy with my 5870 as are most others it seems. If they go 480M then the benefits don't seem to outweigh the negatives although I'm interested to see how the G73 cooling system handles it.

3D as it stands right now is definitely a gimmick. Way too expensive for most people and it just isn't all that great. Until it can be done without glasses in full HD and at reasonable prices it will be nothing more than a fad.

The GPU is going to be a GTX 460M 1.5GB on both models FYI :)

Meh the GTX 480M is an overpriced Nvidia card as usual. It barely beats the 5870 and in some cases is slower.

I've said it before and I will say it again: once the gaming industry starts coding with opencl in mind the cuda advantage will vanish.

Took down for the time being because of a NDA.

G73 w/Nvidia GTX460? I think I am better with a 5870? I don't need USB 3.0 at this time.

Do you think Asus will finally add firewire? I use it alot on for videos but Asus never adds a port for it.

I want to see what gpu this thing carries, the usb 3.0 availability, and the type of processor it may have (most likely 740 stock). The NDA got me wondering about the gpu, so I'm curious. If it were a 460m then It wouldn't be too significant cause the 5870 would most likely bench higher. And if the JW carries a 480m or has a gpu that is on par with it then I'm curious as to how the cooling system would be managed for this laptop.

I'm doing extensive researching on my future laptop and I will probably purchase it on Xoptic because I've heard so many good things about its rep. I've been on a crappy Dell desktop since 2002 which has 256mb of ram so this is a huge tech step for me (going to college next fall as well). I've had my eyes on the G73 for a while, but was a little disappointed with all its faults; so when I heard about the G73JW I got a bit excited ^^. Pretty much if Asus fails me here then I'm probably going to get a Sager or wait for AMD's new fusion tech and see what the rave is all about.

Uh oh, "Pre-order". The word strikes terror in the hearts of XoticPC and it's residents!
I see another "Where is my order and what is taking so long" falsely blaming XoticPC thread on the horizon again.

Anew strikes, we heard you were lost at sea? Is your system still going strong. Any temptation to replace? The cost/performance is great right now.

Yeah, hey there. I know it's been a while. I've been so busy with other things. Still am, but taking a little break for a month or two, so I may be around more often. (I need to reaquaint myself with product a bit).
My little Force is still running strong and with XP! There's that XoticPC magic for ya.
As for replacements and such, I have no "need" to replace my laptop yet. I also don't have the money so that's good.
