Hi I just purchased a Force 1727 and was wondering if installing an I5 540 would be a better decision considering heat and battery life? From what I understand the I5 is 32nm instead of 45, takes 10 watts less to run, and is much cooler. I will be using this system for occasional gaming and taking this laptop to class.

Battery life will improve certainly, but by how much I can't say for sure. 10W is probably only going to net you 15-20 minutes of battery life is my guess and that is probably high side. It is going to be a bit cooler overall though due to the smaller die size and the less power draw.

Does the I5 work with DDR3 1333 and will I really see a difference in gaming?

So even though I have 1333 ram inside that wont matter? What does it run at, 1066? I am also concerned with the heat generated in such a thin notebook. Which cpu would you decide on personally?

If I choose I5 540 it's 31 dollars more than I7.
If I choose I5 620 it's 106 dollars more than I7.

Do not know what to say? I7 is the only 1333? Sorry G?

Umm I would choose none of the above in the Force 1727, why? because the Sager 8760 is cheaper or the same price with better stats:

The force has a worse screen, slightly worse HDD, and any upgrades to the force are more expensive.
