:D i will be receiving my order tommorow.. and i'm so excited :laugh:... any suggestions on what to do first? like the warranty stuff?.. how to register?.. what to update..? software to install like for checking temps of the laptop.. or any other helpful software like anti-virus and stuff... thanks... :notworthy.. didn't expect the shipping would be that fast:biggrin:.. oye!!!

register your warranty, uninstall bloatware+creative software, enjoy laptop as is from there until you find a reason to do anything else.

in windows control panel click the uninstall programs link and pick and choose which ones you don't want and uninstall. Test the creative software first before you uninstall. I'm still running mine with no problems. If you get problems like speakers crackling or something then uninstall.

anti virus just download the microsoft security essentials program which is free. No need to pay for norton or mcafee.

Mine works fine out of the box. No issues. Of course I am not running some of the apps that cause issue, Steam I think was one.

On bloatware? In the old days it was both things that took up valuable space. Hardly an issue on this system. And secondly and more significantly apps that would steal clocks. While with the current super fast CPU's much less of an issue. What all you kids call bloatware is almost exclusively the first. As such I scratch my head why such an issue?

Sure remove but it has zero impact on performance. Do not remove some things right away. Many are liking some of the Asus utilities. Some have regretted removing. Take your time on what is useful and what is not. Could end up saving you a lot of time.

Thank's for the reply guy's... i'm having a problem now.. because i didn't get my laptop today because we went to the Zoo in chicago (LOL)... and the ups rescheduled the delivery for tommorow.. and it's a bad news for me coz, we will be going again to six flags(T__T) tommorow.

You should call them and schedule when you want them to deliver or say you will pick it up. If they deliver three times with no success they ship it back to Xotic.

how do I register the warranty? Although I'm just on phase 2 today, I think get prepared is better. Btw, what does creative software do?

i already called them.. and maybe getting it on monday... for that will be their third attempt... arrggghhh... hate to prolong the agony of waiting the laptop. i want to pick it up but.. the ups that delivers the package is far from our house.. so i will be waiting their delivery on Monday..thx for the reply though appreciate it :notworthy
