the only thing I know is don't mess with the bios, or it will mess up everything.

No, don't mess with the Video drivers or everything will mess up. Updating to the 209 BIOS is good. Make sure you do it with a flash drive formatted as FAT32

I think you can go into your Xotic account and pull a receipt and print. If I am wrong or you can't do just call Xotic and they will tell you how or get you one.
On the updates. I have done none and am fine. No matter what anyone says I say 100% at least for a while until you have had time to test your system do nothing so you can find out how it is working. If you decide after a while to update just read up. People are doing different for different reasons. I think if you take time, read what the updates offer you will be fine.
Good luck.

I have seen other post that says if you upgrade to 209, then you will lose the keyboard light, and it won't come back, I don't know whether it is true.

well then should I upgrade it to 209 or I should just leave it there?

I believe 209 solves that problem. It's up to you, it does fix a lot of minor issues and I don't know of any people who have had problems with it. Just make sure you do it through a usb flash drive, not sure what format it has to be.
I myself actually haven't upgraded yet just out of pure laziness. I know which things to avoid doing as far as keeping mine working with 206 so I haven't experienced any problems yet.

You can only use a drive formatted as FAT32. On notebookreview there was a huge thread discussing it and using your internal drive or a external drive formatted as NTFS bricks the computer

I'm here to point out that it is a MYTH that you need to use a USB formatted in FAT32 to install the 209 BIOS. I used the update via Windows application and all went smoothly as usual. Still have use of the keyboard light, however I will say that you cannot DIM it down anymore, its more of an on/off type of deal after the update.
I would suggest updating to the 209 BIOS because it does more than a few simple fixes as people seem to think, it resolves CPU/GPU issues with clocking up/down when needed to conserve battery life as well as many minor fixes.

thx for the reply guys...:notworthy appreciate it.. hmm... maybe i'm not going to upgrade anything and stick to the stock drivers and bios coz i don't see any reason to upgrade.. my laptop works fine... and i already deleted some bloatwares but not all of them.. i have a question about the creative software... is it the same as the creative mediasource 5?

I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to this type of stuff.
What would one have to do to even upgrade the drivers or bios. Also, i'm not quite sure what bios are. Any information on this is greatly appreciated.
I don't plan on upgrading anything but I would like to know how to avoid this stuff.

I don't plan on upgrading anything but I would like to know how to avoid this stuff. This is what a BIOS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BIOS) is. The basic is it is firmware it is sort of like flash memory. You boot up the BIOS identifies the hardware so the OS can load, once it posts hands over to OS. You update the BIOS by "flashing" it.
Drivers are just simple code that communicates with hardware. That gets installed and uninstalled more like applications. Just not in the add remove program area. Device manager is were you remove and install from.

If you just got your machine this week, it probably already has BIOS v.209. I got mine 3 weeks ago and it was at v.209. The rest of the driver updates is your call...
