I'm in the UK and I ordered a laptop from here about a week ago using bank wire transfer. I've never used a wire transfer before but xoticpc sent instructions for what to do and I figured if I printed those off and took it to my bank then they would understand.

The problem is, they required 3 codes which are a swift code, account number and a 9-digit "clearing code." The information xoticpc sent me was this:

Removed due to sensitive information

Following this, there only seems to be 2 codes in the international section of the instructions. There does not appear to be a 9-digit "clearing code" under the international section although there is a 9-digit "ABA" code in the domestic section. I'm wondering if anyone knows if this 9-digit ABA code in the domestic section is actually the 9 digit code my bank requires to complete the transaction. I didn't think it would be because domestic and international transfers appear to be going to different banks but apart from that, I can't see any other information that could be the code which I need.

Does anyone have experience with this and can help me out? Or has anyone specifically ordered from the UK and knows whether we use different names for this code which I need? I contacted customer support but they didnt seem to know how to help as they'd never heard of a clearing code...

Thanks.

So did you use the ABA from the 1st section? Before it talks about international payments?

Hi, no I did not have any ABA.
I used that XOTIC bank data that you posted, and that was ok.

I had a similar problem sending a wire from Ireland. The bank staff didn't know and the forms were inadequate. But I went to a larger branch and they were able to help me fill in the form. The 9-digit code is the ABA number as far as I remember.

Vox, did you get a solution to your problems regarding the wire transfer? If you haven't, please give us a call at 1-877-289-9684. I've checked with Joseph and he said banks don't usually require a clearing code, just the swift code and our account number. And also the intermediary bank, which it looks like you had correct before I edited the post. Let us know how it goes!
