I'm gonna make a simplified version on how to update the Nvidia driver for the G73JW. As some G73JW user's may have noticed the latest Nvidia drivers, 260.89 and 260.99, do not recognize the 460m.
This is how I updated mine (credit goes to the guy from the Nvidia forums where I got this guide from):
Note 1: We will be editing an .inf file and it'll make windows not recognize the edited driver .inf as a legitimate driver even though it is, just edited. If you want to proceed just accept the install when prompted by the message.
Note 2: This guide will only work for the G73JW. If you have a different laptop model with a 460m, this will not work for you since the hardware ID is different. Also, this is for Windows 7 64-bit be it either Home Premium, Professional, or Ultimate.
1.) Download this nvam.inf file: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GMXAJLMY
2.) Download the latest driver here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook-win7-winvista-64bit-260.99-whql-driver.html (Just let it extract. Do not install. Well, it's not like you can install it to begin with since it will give you an error saying that it is not compatible.)
3.) Copy the file from Step 1 and use it to replace the one in C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\260.99\Vista 64-bit\International\Display.Driver\ (This is the default location where the drivers unpack. Don't worry about it saying Vista 64-bit, that's just how the driver names the path by default.)
4.) Run the setup.exe which can be found in C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\260.99\Vista 64-bit
5.) Complete the installation and now you have the latest driver for your G73JW's 460m graphics card.
End-note: I recommend doing a clean install of the drivers. You can do this by uninstalling the old driver by going to Control Panel<Programs and Features then uninstall the Nvidia driver there and installing the new one afterward.
EDIT: This guide has been revised to compensate for the 260.63 driver link being taken down and to make it simpler/faster.
