Can anyone tell me why the G73JH-B1 got removed from the list of laptops that one can buy? What's the reason behind this decision?

It is no longer available from ASUS.

Hi all,

First time XoticPC shopper here.

I was choosing between G73JH-B1 & the G73JW-A1. After some reading, I picked the G73JH-B1.

Here is my story:

11-15-2010 (Mon) // Placed order
11-16-2010 (Tue) // Got e-mail confirmation. Pending for payment.
11-18-2010 (Thu) // Wired payment.
11-23-2010 (Tue) // Got e-mail about XoticPC has received the $$, yet G73JH-B1 is out of stock.

As a customer, I got no need to know how a company processes the order internally, but:
- how could you accept an order when you didn't have the product in stock?

- why sent an order confirmation if you didn't have the product in stock?

- couldn't XoticPC e-mail a notice about a product being unavailable, before I wired the payment?

It would be a hassle now to ask for refund:
- which side is going to pay for the bank fees for those wire transfers?
- now is probably too late to purchase from the other vendors, yet back then some of them might have it in stock.

This experience reminds me of this:

I guess I should just blame ASUS? http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/4449/kill2.gif

*Update - 11/25/2010 (Thu)

Checked with few other vendors, and they got the G73JH-B1 in stock.

Just sent a request to XoticPC for getting refund. I doubt it will be smooth, as I demand them to pay me back the wire transfer, which is $35 + $26.
(I honestly don't see how it should be my responsibility, as XoticPC failed to fulfill the accepted order)

Will see how XoticPC handles it.

Looks like they ran out of 5870's. If you really want one call Xotic call and let them know there might be a few misplaced in the supply chain or one might pop back in.

An update of my story

I decided to take a loss on the $60 wire fee, and order the G73JH-B1 from a different vendor while they still had it:

11/27/2010 (Sat) // I sent cancellation request to < cancel@xoticpc.com >
11/30/2010 (Tue) // Got e-mail confirmation on my request
12/04/2010 (Sat) // Got my refund check

To be fair, the sales advisor has been wonderful. He responded to all my e-mails promptly, with informative answers and a professional manner. Thanks again.

I just noticed the B1's page returning.

Is it back in stock?
