If you have the opinion that the official beta still has lots of bugs and incompatibility, a newer and supposedly better version of pre-release IE9 build has been leaked to Internet. IE9 Pre-RC, or rather the IE9 Beta 2 been the second build which been released or leaked to public, has the build version of 9.0.8027.6000. The build has a even newer version number than the IE9 Preview W7 build 9.0.8023.6000 which was released recently.
The IE9 Pre-RC Beta includes new features such as a download speed indicator for the download manager, and fixes some important reliability and compatibility issues, in addition to enhance web page loading speed and general performance. Overall, IE9 Pre-RC is said to improve user experience.
The leaked IE9 Beta v9.0.8027.6000 was the build that been distributed to VIP testers by Microsoft, but not available officially for the general public, except through the leak download. After installed the leaked IE9 Pre-RC, it’s listed as “Windows Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate” in the Installed Updates of Control Panel.
People who interested to experience the new IE9 build can download the setup installer here:
32-bit (x86): IE9-Windows7-x86-enu.exe (http://depositfiles.com/files/mqkleytlm)
64-bit (x64): IE9-Windows7-x64-enu.exe (http://depositfiles.com/files/mxm0fz5e8)
Just installed the x64 version, and a little surprise came up. A new entry in the microsoft windows group in the installed updates list is named "Windows Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate".

I have been using IE9 for a bit and I agree with the bugs and incompatibilities, so I am going to install that one you linked and see if it fixes it.

New York and San Francisco have all the fun.
Internet Explorer 9 RC set to launch on February 10
Microsoft sent out media invites on Friday for an Internet Explorer 9 event on February 10.
The software giant is expected to unveil the Release Candidate version of Internet Explorer 9 at an event in San Francisco on February 10. Microsoft was expected to unveil the RC build today, January 28 (http://www.winrumors.com/internet-explorer-9-release-candidate-rc-due-on-january-28/), however it appears the software giant has opted for a lavish launch party instead:
“IE in San Francisco (2/10) – Members from the Internet Explorer team (and some special guests) will be visiting San Francisco in two weeks to share some important news. I know it’s an extremely busy news week already, but we’re hoping you can join us.”
Internet Explorer 9 RC build 9.0.8073.6003 appeared on a number of file sharing sites (http://www.winrumors.com/internet-explorer-9-rc-escrow-build-leaks-ahead-of-public-debut/) on Friday, shortly before Microsoft is expected to unveil its latest public preview. The build is an escrow version of Internet Explorer 9 RC and is not expected to represent the final shipping build version of Internet Explorer 9 RC. Screenshots of a more recent escrow build surfaced on Friday, version 9.00.8073.6018 (WIN7_IE9_Partner.110121-2300). The screenshots revealed that Microsoft is planning a location privacy feature for IE9 (http://www.winrumors.com/newly-leaked-internet-explorer-9-rc-screenshots-reveal-location-privacy-feature/). WinRumors understands the builds are Microsoft’s escrow near final builds of Internet Explorer 9 RC. Microsoft’s release candidate of Internet Explorer 9 will include a number of new enhancements from the previous public beta build.
According to sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans, the software giant is currently building copies of Internet Explorer 9 that include an “ActiveX filter” feature. The filter will allow users to control what ActiveX elements are displayed on sites they visit, furthering Microsoft’s commitment to security within its browser. Microsoft is expected to ship the feature inside Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate (RC).
Microsoft has also improved the UI of the browser tabs (http://www.winrumors.com/internet-explorer-9-release-candidate-will-sport-minor-ui-changes/) and buttons in Internet Explorer 9 RC. The build features square tabs and minor UI enhancements to the address bar buttons in Internet Explorer 9. Microsoft has also updated its download manager so that it now displays the transfer speed without the need to hover over individual downloads.
Microsoft announced earlier this month that the beta version of Internet Explorer 9 has surpassed 20 million downloads (http://www.winrumors.com/internet-explorer-9-beta-passes-20-million-downloads/), making it the most downloaded beta release of Internet Explorer ever. The download rate of Internet Explorer 9 beta has grown by 5 million each month since its release on September 15, 2010. Internet Explorer 9 RC is expected to include UI tweaks (http://www.winrumors.com/internet-explorer-9-release-candidate-will-sport-minor-ui-changes/) and minor changes to some functions in Internet Explorer. Microsoft will also introduce a new Tracking protection feature (http://www.winrumors.com/microsoft-unveils-tracking-protection-for-internet-explorer-9-release-candidate/) in Internet Explorer 9 RC that will allow consumers to address their concerns about being tracked on the web.

if the beta version wasn't so buggy I might have hope for the final.

In case any of you missed this.
Google Toolbar for IE goes Instant
http://download.cnet.com/8301-2007_4-20056636-12.html
While Google Toolbar 7 for Firefox (http://download.cnet.com/Google-Toolbar-for-Firefox/3000-11745_4-10522820.html) launched several months ago, the Internet Explorer version (download) (http://download.cnet.com/Google-Toolbar-for-Internet-Explorer/3000-12512_4-10056938.html) went live just this week. It brings Google Instant to the popular toolbar, along with more robust privacy options and a cleaner interface.
Although the support for Google Instant search is the most notable feature improvement in version 7, what appears most interesting is the way that the toolbar lets you know that features like Instant that require tracking to work actually do track you. While this might not be news to some, it's a strong reminder that many of the data-rich features that people love do come at a cost to personal privacy.
