The ones that use slave labor and overcharge. *cough* dell *cough*

Gaming almost exclusively, with a little AutoCAD thrown in for good measure.
6) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places or leaving it on your desk?
Mostly on my desk. It will go with me to LAN parties. (dork alert!)
7) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games?
Age of Conan, Sins of a Solar Empire, Call of Duty 4, Crysis…
8) How many hours of battery life do you need?
If I have to go walkabout, my expectations for battery life will be low. Mostly ill be plugged in.
9) Do you mind buying online without seeing the notebook in person?
Don’t mind at all. As long as I don’t end up with some banana yellow monstrosity, were good.
10) What OS do you prefer? Windows (XP or Vista), Mac OS, Linux, etc.
Here is where I could use the help. I loved xp, but during a recent reformat, I moved to vista. There have been some, ah, adjustment issues. Actually, I really don’t like it. I hear its great for gamers, but ive not seen the difference yet. Someone drop some knowledge on me!

I do love my widescreen.

Standard
a. XGA -1024x768 - Large and easy to read text + graphics icons, but you fit less stuff on the screen.
b. SXGA - 1400x1050 - Compromise resolution between XGA and UXGA.
c. UXGA - 1600x1200 - Very small text and graphics icons, you can fit lots of stuff on the screen.
Widescreen
d. WXGA or WXGA+ - 1280x768/800 or 1440x900; Wider viewing version of XGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets.
e. WSXGA+ - 1680x1050; Wider viewing version of SXGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets.
f. WUXGA - 1920x1200; Wider viewing version of UXGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets.
I think probably e. hell, even after reading the primer, I feel like a retard. Whats recommended?
13) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non glossy screen? (Read below on differences)
Makes no nevermind to me. Which one is cheaper?

Form follows function, but everyone wants a sexy laptop. This will be dependent on cost.
15) When are you buying this laptop and how long do you want this laptop to last?
This week or next. Id like to get 2 to 3 years out of it. Id really like it to be upgrade-able.

I think I probably need at least 250.
17) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a CDRW/DVD-ROM, DVD Burner or Blu-Ray drive?
The first would probably suffice, but if you guys are having specials on blu-ray, ill take it.
