How many people currently have the Sager 5135? I just ordered 2 of them (one for me, one for my wife) and would love to have someone to discuss it with.

Are there no owners of this model yet?

I just recieved the 5135 with no operating system today.

I installed win 7 pro. and the drivers cd. Everything is A ok so far, although I tried to fire up 3dmark11 and it claimed my hardware didn't support DX11, and i'm pretty sure it does if you look at my stats.

I installed the drivers from the included CD just fine, and that worked, I have the nvidia control panel and everything.

After I got the DX11 error I went to the nvidia site and downloaded the latest drivers, it wouldn't let me install them, (they were correct for this model) the drivers claimed I had unsupported hardware as well. Any idea whats going on there?

Minecraft was running pretty good, no complaints on the FR, but some of the shapes looked like they were having a zbuffer issue, is there any way to change the zbuffer settings?

Never got to brag about how happy I was with the system.

Love the asthetics, exactly what I was looking for. Loved being able to get it barebones. I was worried about the screen. I got the 720p wide, not the 1080, and i'm happy with it. I haven't tried it on my 42" flat screen yet. (still at work playing with it:) )

I think i'll be ok with the screen.

Plugged the 5135 into my 42" 1080p flat screen last night. Using the VGA cable. Worked like a charm.

Will I notice any difference running an HDMI cable? I thought the image was perfect with the VGA.

I have been told that it isn't recommended to run an external display off a laptop for any considerable amount of time. Although I don't plan on using my laptop as a dedicated media center I do plan on watching netflix streaming HD on my 42" TV.

Will this burn out my 5135? Should I upgrade my video out card or something?

Does anyone know of any good software for logging temperature information over time?

If you own a Sager 5135, can you tell me how you activated the webcam on it?
I installed all the drivers that came with the machine, and there's apparently nothing for the webcam.

In my device manager, there's no "Imaging Devices" option.

You have to push the button with camera next to the power button to turn the webcam on or off.

This is a very sweet laptop, my third laptop in the 6 years I've owned them and performs as good as I can imagine. Though within the first 2 weeks of owning it, the Intel internal wifi card stopped working for whatever reason. Luckily, a drive to the Sager offices later, I got it replaced with a working one with little time wasted and all my files still intact, which still fully works to this day.

I am, however, bothered by the webcam software, for even though I got it installed, the overlay often freezes after being open for 3 seconds. Viewing it via any other software such as Windows Live Movie Maker did not show this problem.

Hi,...
calbear96, i'm sorry to interrupt your intriguing questions but this topic was discussed a lot in this very forum, xorg.conf files were uploaded and discussed, so has the subject of X64 ubuntu which isn't reccomended atm by ubuntu themselves.

this forum has a really good search option, you should use it, i doubt you'll have any more questions.
