Okayyy !
Now listen...
For 6 months I have had the same problem that a LOT of ppl have, that stupid Downclocking problem with th 8800m GTX, read my other threads if you wanna know :)
SO the solution that everyone that has a np5792 and that has the DC problem is :
Update your1.00.07 BIOS to the newer 1.00.08 ones, wich are the ones gave to the np5793 !
To get those go to notebookreview.com and you will be able to get those.
If you have never upgraded your BIOS before, its quite a pain in the ass coz if you do it wrong you might have to pur your motherboard in the trash.. BUT the risk is worth the pain....
So my friends, good luck and have a good dAy :)
Also just to let you know updating the VBIOS is not necessary if you have the .14 version.
GPUZ will tell you wich one you have :D

Thanks a lot man!! Have you checked to see if the new drivers also run better? The thing is though, before I attempt an update I just want to make sure of something...
This is what is listed in my system information:
BIOS Version/Date Phoenix SROSA001.86C., 11/23/2007
SMBIOS Version 2.4
I also have run GPU-Z during games, etc and I get a constant core clock of 500Mhz and memory clock of 799Mhz. Also, as far as I understood the bios update was just for fan speed control? Did you mean DC when on battery?
Just want to make sure that the update will really accomplish something before I make it, thanks for the help :)!

Nevermind about the bios ver. part, I had to check at boot up to see the correct bios ver. which is the older one. Also found that I have video bios ver. 62.92.23.00.14 so I am assuming that that's why I don't DC. Still would appreciate it if you cleared up the specifics and whether or not I don't really need to worry about it. If the update allows the newer drivers to run better than the stock I would be in. Thanks again!

I meant that on AC when I had other drivers than the stock ones, my graphic perfomance would be reduced to half.
Now with this update, it doesn't occur anymore.
The fan control is with the frimware driver, not the BIOS ones.
So if you have the same DC problem that is what you need to do.
For the VBIOS, if you have the 62.92.23.00.14 just like you said, no need to change them. the ones you need to update are the ones of your motherboard the BIOS, ( wich is the little menu that youhave when you press F2 at startup.
Any other question ? :D

Hummm... so if I am DC on drivers other than the stock and update would allow me to get better performance?! :)

Can you point me towards a good guide for upgrading the bios? I also downloaded the version you listed, but I am not entirely sure if it is correct.... I was reading through some guides earlier and heard this is a risky process. Any help you can offer will be great! Looking forward to upgrading asap :).

Thats the link to the guide I used for my upgrade, you will need a Usb stick.
remember, be ON AC POWER and don't do it if there is a storm or if the power might stop for any reason. IF YOU COMPUTER IS NOT ON AC WHILE YOU UPGRADE : BYE BYE COMPY !
Anyway, I took the risk, not so huge :D
In the folder of the BIOS update you have : ( 57RU_108)
-57RU_108.WPH
-PHLASH16
-Refresh
(names of the different things that are in the folder of the BIOS (new one) )
Anything else ? :)

Just how to save my current BIOS just in case :). Thanx or the guide! I sort of knew how to do it, but can never be too careful. Also what is your new 3D Mark score? Mine is about 8500 at the moment.
