OCZ just announced a 1.8 Volt 4 GB kit for DDRII 800 MHz memory - http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memory/ocz_pc2_6400_ddr2_sodimm
I contacted Sager about it, and they have no idea if it will work or not within the NP 9260. Since the BIOS is non-configurable for memory, is it a safe bet to assume the 9260's BIOS will work with this memory?
Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff, it is hard to say if it will work or not. Until it is tested we will not know :( We hope to test it soon :)

Justin:
I tried the memory, and am having problems with the BIOS recognizing this as 4GB memory. It currently is seeing things as a 2 GB total. I've double checked the part numbers, and everything is labeled for 2GB SO-DIMMS x 2 for 4GB. Could the 800 MHz FSB of the chip be causing the BIOS to report 1/2 the size of memory?
I've e-mailed Sager, but haven't had a response. Is there anything I can do on my end?
If this 4GB kit will not work, which ones will work?
Thx,
Jeff

I should also note, I tried each chip individually as well, and they report as 1GB SO-DIMMs.

Please contact support and they will help you out. I cant think of why they wouldnt show in Bios, since they are clearly labeled 2GB.

Update: I'm working with OCZ now as well. I'll update the forum when a resolution is found.

OCZ just responded. Seems like my 4GB Kit was "misprogrammed".
I have no idea if this is a fluke, but I'm hopeful they'll resolve the situation.

Any word on this situation? I just got a 9260 with 4GB 667mhz and am looking to swap it for the 800mhz. Will there be a bios update I'll need or instructions on how to apply the fix?
