I just bought an NP7280 (980x, 12 gig ram, etc).
I wanted a rush order because I was in a hurry.
When the laptop arrived, the cover over the fans had been improperly installed, so that the plastic tabs in the middle were sticking out and the panel bent.
Fine, I figured they were in a rush so I just unscrewed it and fit it back properly.
Now I am getting recurrent bluescreens, followed by a reboot where I get a
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable.
PXE-MOF: Exiting PXE-ROM
error. Some Googling suggests this might be due to a faulty or loose connection on the DVD, hard drive connection or even a faulty hard drive. I have changed the boot order so it boots directly to the harddrive.
I've had this computer for a week and I hope it will not prove to be a headache. My previous purchase here at XoticPC was for a Sager NP9260, a computer I'm satisfied with, has lasted me well, and has been very reliable.
Overall I'm very satisfied with the price and the products at XoticPC. I'm therefore resisting the urge to pass judgment, but nevertheless feel the need to pass on a warning.
Please do not compromise on build quality even with rush orders... Hopefully this isn't a major issue but I am extremely busy and since I'm not a gamer but using this computer professionally I do not have the luxury of a hobbyist to sort out these kinds of faults.
