Just wanna share my experience with you about my new laptop 5793 that I bought last month. I just think that it might be helpful to other members on the board. The laptop was actually bought last month but I had my friend's brother buy it in the US and then have it manually delivered to me since he is having his vacation here in the Philippines this month. I was really excited about it until it was given to me earlier this month. However, to my horror, the laptop just keeps on shutting down when I try to boot up or install any operating system. I thought it was odd since if I were to turn it on and just go to BIOS it would not shut itself down. The problem only occurs whenever I load up or boot up something. I have actually worked with computers for a long time already and have assembled and repaired many computers in the past but those were all desktop pc works and I have not done any troubleshooting on notebook hardwares ever. But since I really do not want to have my laptop sent back to the US to have it repaired and not to mention shelf out additional money for shipping it back and forth. That was why, although, I was not very confident on ripping the laptop and checking the hardwares installed in it, I mustered to just try and check to see what was really going on. Now to my dismay, I found out what was causing the problem. The CPU HEATSINK ON MY LAPPY WAS ACTUALLY NOT SCREWED to the processor's socket. I checked on the pictures about installing 8800GTX cards manually just to double check if the cpu heatsink does indeed needs to be screwed to the cpu socket and that was indeed the case. Luckily the screws for the back of the laptop fits the holes for the cpu heatsink and thus resolve my problem. Right now my laptops already working fine (albeit the missing 3 screws at the back of my laptop) without any issues but it did scare the hell out of me to find my laptop not working after spending a lot of time looking for the best laptop for me.

I am sorry to hear of this. :( We apologize that Sager didn't fasten the heatsink properly in your system. We will forward this to Sager to ensure this doesn't happen again. If you can please PM or email me your order details I will ensure this is immediately brought to the appropriate personnel.
This has never happened before and I deeply apologize that you have experienced a issue such as this.

Hey Bankz99,
I know you don't want to ship you lappy back to the US and all that. However, its still under warranty. I'm glad you were able to fix it yourself though. Just be careful not to mention that bit to Sager so as to not void your warranty.
You can rest assured that Justin and team at XoticPC will take care of the issue. Trust them.

Thanks Anewbus.. I know that removing the cpu heatsink voids the warranty as I have read it in the manual. I actually discovered that the heatsink was not properly fastened to the CPU by accident. This was because I was just trying to clean the cooling system and then suddenly I found out that the heatsink for the CPU was rather not properly connected only to find out later that it actually was not fasten at all. I was even having problems trying to put it back then since I used up the thermal paste included in the laptop package for the 8800 video card since I first suspected it to be the problem and though It might be better to just clean it up and replace the thermal compound. Luckily I remembered that I still had this Diamond Themal compound that I haven't used and thus saved me time to put the processor back in place and fastened correctly. I don't have any problems with the laptop right now. It's been great since having it fixed. I just shared my experience so that if ever somebody might have the same problems as I did, it might be worth their time to double check the heatsinks just in case its not fasten properly to save time.
Anyways, other than that issue, XoticPC has been great to me and their service is really great. I can really attest to that especially since I'm also working as a technical support / customer service department of a webhosting company as a Supervisor and I can really tell what good customer service is about. I was really having second thoughts about buying a laptop from them at the start but all of it is laid to rest now and I would still recommend them to anyone I know that is looking for an awesome notebook. That is why I look forward to getting another laptop from them soon.. :)
