Mic and VideoView Problems....

Hello, I have had this problem with my Sager NP5793 for quite some time now. The built in mic seems to work fine on vent, ingame, etc. but does not seem to like my webcam program videoview. It doesnt capture any audio what so ever... I selected capture audio and the mic that I am using... but it doesnt work.... I am sure that i havnt muted it cause i check in the control panel and put the recording volume all the way up and it is not muted.... Please help this is quite an annoyance...

Hi Mochi - I'm honestly not very familiar with built-in mics or with Videoview (I'm more into music-production type stuff) - but here's a couple stabs in the general direction:

1. With videoview, could the capture audio function be designed to capture output instead of input?

2. With the above thought in mind, maybe if you can find any controls for input monitoring / input routing - it might help to mess with those. (Just don't let the speakers get into a feedback loop - that's not cool at all.)

3. Of course there's always Device Manager and the drivers. Just make sure everything has the right stuff running it. I somewhat suspect an XP/Vista driver incompatibility issue with Videoview, but that's just a guess.
