Is there any way a keyboard with no number pad could fit in the chassis of the Asus M70 or G70?
A couple years ago, finding a 17-inch screen without a number pad was easy as pie. This year, it's almost impossible.
Though I've been scouring the 17-inch models every day for over a week, I didn't notice until today that the G2SG does not have a number pad. I was thrilled about this finding. However, on close inspection, I wouldn't be happy with this model.
My job pays on typing production. No typing means no paycheck. Key size and location are critical for speed. I never use the number pad.
When eyes are not on the screen, no typing occurs. When a small Delete key is surrounded by others on all four sides, I must look down every time to keep from pressing an adjacent key.
Having no number pad can free up at least 2 sides of the Delete key and push it closer toward the far right side, making it easier to find.
I assume the answer is no, but wanted to make sure.
Thanks much,
