IOMeter results have the Intel 510 Series SSDs outperforming the 128GB Corsair Performance 3 drive which uses a similar controller; the deltas can likely be attributed to differences in firmware and the higher capacity of the Intel drives.
Moving to a two drive RAID 0 setup improves performance here by about 40%
What's most interesting to note, however, is that previous-gen SandForce and Intel drives outperform the 510 SSD Series in random writes, and the upcoming SF-2000 based Vertex 3 is simply in another league.

Being confronted with the problem of choosing an SSD for my SW at this moment the Intel is my best option but kinda bummed about how so much better the Vertex 3 is.
Is there a reason the Vertex 3 is not an option yet in the Xotic riggs because i see that i can already get the drives here for about 300 USD equivalent.

AFAIK the Vertex 3 is not shipping yet.I only see dealers taking preorders.

The Intel is a solid drive and uses tried and true 34nm memory chips.
OCZ Vertex 3 looks better in synthetic benchmarks and on paper but in real world performance you may not see the difference.
The Intel will not disappoint.

You're right I checked and the new OCZ drives are only on preorders and i am happy that you consider the Intel a good drive, tbh I dont really know how to interpret the numbers I see in review so after all i might go with it.

At CES back in January OCZ gave a May 2011 ETA for the Vertex 3.I've seen nothing official from OCZ stating an exact release date yet that is earlier.
The pressure is now on OCZ and Crucial to get their new SSDs to retailers before Intel gets the lions share of early buyers.
Many people consider the two 4K benchmark numbers to be most important. In those,OCZ is the clear winner.

So... what is then the point to make benchmark tests if at the end in real life we won't see the difference in performance except in our wallet
