    Default G73SW Web Camera issues

I can't figure out how to get the webcam to work.

It doesn't show up in the Device Manager at all. I went to asus and cannot find a driver for it at all. I also looked on the drivers disk it came with, no luck there either.

The driver is definitely on the website, under imaging devices you do not show the USB2.0 UVC 2M WebCam?

No, don't even have an imaging devices tab.

When on asus support site under the G73SW there is no list for the camera only the Virtual camera program under utility's. If I look under G73JW the camera drivers show.

Have you tried using the "Smart logon" tool built into your laptop? It uses the camera to recognize you as a password. Try using it to see if your camera pops up. Or try Skype and see if that program will find it as well.

    No dice.

Trying to use skype is how i figured out it wasn't working. I just tried Smart Login. No luck there either.

My worry now is that somehow when they were putting my computer back together it didn't get plugged back in.

I would be surprised if that were the case but I am sure Xotic would be happy to help, or the Asus hotline as well should be able to direct you to the driver and what not.

Just got off the phone with Asus......they don't even have access to the driver. I will try and call Xotic tomorrow.

    Hopefully they have better info.

    Default Can't Install Webcam Drivers

Has anyone been able to figure this out.

I have a G73SW-3DE laptop and just reinstalled windows. I am having the same problem where the webcam doesn't show up in Device Manager at all.

It doesn't even show an unknown device or anything..

Mine also does not show up in any device manager, but it does work when I try to use it via any program that uses the camera.

is there a fn+F# key for turning the web cam on and off? if so have you tried toggling it on and off?
    - Thanks to Smoghog for the new router, it really helps!
